The CBT is a structured syllabus laid down by the DSA, to teach novice riders the basics of motorcycling. After completion of this training the rider is issued with a CBT certificate, which is valid for two years and allows them to ride a 125cc motorcycle (with L plates). The CBT course includes practical exercises, plus training on safety, clothing and road riding (accompanied by an instructor).
BMW Rider Training offer the CBT as a two-day course, this enables the individual to have a full day of motorcycle training on the private training pad before taking to the road with your instructor. Riders who book the two-day course and progress well, will also have the chance to upgrade to a BMW F 650 GS or G 650 Xcountry for use on the private training pad to see whether they would like to do further training on a bigger bike at a later stage (subject to instructor decision).
Visit www.dsa.gov.uk for further information about the CBT.
A two-day CBT course is a perfect opportunity for your partner to try out motorcycling for the first time, if you are booking an Off Road Skills Course! You do not even need to hold the motorcycle Theory Test certificate to try our CBT Plus.
